Italian Chicken Tenders

These Italian Chicken Tenders are crispy on the outside and the tenders are extremely moist and flavorful.  An easy meal to prepare and your family will love them.   They are also versatile since you can swap out the Italian Panko bread crumbs for regular Panko bread crumbs and add other flavors.  Try Lemon Garlic Parmesan or Coconut Chicken Tenders.

This recipe does require marinating the chicken tenders in buttermilk overnight.  Place the chicken tenders in a long container. Add the buttermilk, sliced onions, minced garlic, and freshly ground black pepper. Place in the refrigerator overnight.

Italian Chicken Tenders Marinating

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove the chicken tenders from the refrigerator. Take out each chicken tender from the buttermilk (do not wipe dry) and dredge in the Italian Panko bread crumbs.  Place coated chicken tenders in a casserole dish that has been sprayed with a nonstick cooking spray.

Do the same for the onion slices. Bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes.

NOTE:  This marinate with buttermilk, sliced onions, minced garlic and freshly ground black pepper works really well with salmon fillets as well.
